緣起 | Origin
蓬萊合唱團 (Vancouver Formosan Singers)
1990年幾位音樂愛好者發起成立屬於台僑的合唱團。於是，發起人邀請有意參加者齊集於東寧書院的一個教室，討論包括名稱的種種事項。當時，大家覺得團名一定要與至愛的故鄉連結，於是「番薯仔」、「福爾摩沙」、「台聲」等都被提了出來。一番討論後，最後決議以「溫哥華蓬萊合唱團」為名；英文Vancouver Formosan Singers。以蓬萊為名，實有思念故鄉的濃厚情誼！成立當初，聘請林麗玉老師為指揮，林文莉與張婷妤為伴奏。創團之後，每年均舉辦演唱會，將成果與本地同鄉一起分享。
其後，這個原來僅是大家互相抒解思鄉情懷的園地，經過歷屆團長、諸位指揮老師以及團員大家的努力，持續成長，成為推廣優質台灣音樂，也接受多元文化的滋養的團體。唱台灣歌謠，以撫慰同鄉懷鄉的心；唱世界各地的歌，也讓大家加速融入主流社會。
蓬萊於2023年相繼完成在僑委會的社團登記，以及卑詩省政府的非營利性質社團登記。
以歌會友之餘，除了繼續每年定期舉辦音樂會，邀請各界人士分享年度成果之外，蓬萊也開始從事社區活動，參加公益慈善活動的演出，包括受邀於台加藝文節與世界台灣客家懇親大會開幕式演出、於三處舉行快閃演唱，為慶賀農曆新年添加更多樂趣；並曾主辦全球天籟僑聲歌唱比賽溫哥華預賽。
另外，蓬萊合唱團也曾邀請包括日本宮崎合唱團和台北市立國樂團附設合唱團等友團，相互觀摩，在本地或海外舉辦聯合演出。
2017年蓬萊合唱團回台灣，參加總統盃全世界僑胞混聲合唱比賽，榮獲第二名的殊榮，這是最值得大家感到驕傲的榮耀。
感謝團員們的信任託付、蓬萊人的堅持守護、愛樂友人的相惜、相挺；蓬萊能走到今天，心中非常感恩；期盼蓬萊的歌聲能永續，迴響在溫哥華的天空！
The Vancouver Formosan Singers was established in June 1990. In 1544, Portuguese sailors passed by Taiwan and recorded in their logbook the name Ilha Formosa — a beautiful island! Naming the choir “Vancouver Formosan Singers” reflects a deep nostalgia for our homeland and heartfelt emotions.

推廣優質台灣音樂, 也接受多元文化的滋養, 讓合聲藝術之美進駐人心, 美化世界。
參加公益慈善活動的演出。
定期舉辦音樂會, 唱台灣歌謠, 以撫慰僑民懷舊的心; 唱世界各地的歌, 讓僑民加速融入溫哥華新故鄉。
To promote high-quality Taiwanese music while embracing the richness of multicultural influences, bringing the beauty of choral art into people’s hearts and making the world a better place.
Participate in charitable and public welfare performances.
Regularly organize concerts to sing Taiwanese folk songs, soothing the nostalgic hearts of expatriates, and perform songs from around the world, helping them integrate more quickly into their new home in Vancouver.

2017年返台參加『總統盃僑胞混聲合唱觀摩賽』, 於來自世界各地14支合唱團中, 榮獲亞軍。
In 2017, the choir returned to Taiwan to participate in the “Presidential Cup Overseas Community Mixed Choir Festival,” earning second place among 14 choirs from around the world.
社團登記 | Organization Registration
2023年7月17日在中華民國僑務委員會完成社團登記。
2023年8月4日正式成為BC省的非營利性質社團。
On July 17, 2023, the choir completed its registration with the Overseas Community Affairs Council Republic of China. (Taiwan)
On August 4, 2023, it officially became a non-profit organization in the province of British Columbia.

8. 2024年7月6日, 受邀於台灣加拿大藝術文化節閉幕音樂會, 在 Vancouver Playhouse 演出。
9. 2024年9月8日, 受邀於世界台灣客家懇親大會開幕式, 在 River Rock Casino Resort 劇院演出。
10. 2024年10月26日, 舉辦34週年「音符飛揚生命有歌」成果發表會。

12. February 10-11, 2024: Performed pop-up concerts at Kuo Hua Trading, China Airlines, and CIBC to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
13. July 6, 2024: Invited to perform at the closing concert of the Taiwan-Canada Arts and Culture Festival at the Vancouver Playhouse.
14. September 8, 2024: Invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the World Taiwanese Hakka Convention at the River Rock Casino Resort Theatre.
15. October 26, 2024, Hosted the 34th Anniversary “Melodies in Flight, Songs for Life” showcase event at Vancouver Presbyterian Church.

指揮巴如玉老師簡介 | Introduction of the Conductor, Teacher Ruby Ba
Ruby Ba is a Taiwanese-Canadian musician and educator who recognizes that music is a rich medium that allows for self-exploration and the cultivation of community values. A graduate of the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, Ruby has sought to prioritize practices that encourage self-reflection and personal growth, while building a culture of leadership and connection within the communities she works with. She currently works as an elementary music educator in the Vancouver School District. Throughout her career, Ruby has experiences in both conducting and singing in various ensembles in the Lower Mainland. Ruby is also a strong advocate for the Taiwanese-Canadian community and wishes to bridge connections between cultures through music.
伴奏Accompanist簡介 | Introduction of the Accompanistm, Vivian Sham
Vivian Sham discovered her passion for the piano at the age of six and since then, has studied under Salina Cheng, Rachel Iwaasa, Corey Hamm, and Michelle Mares. In addition to being a graduate from the UBC Bachelor of Music program (Piano Performance), Vivian holds four diplomas:
A.R.C.T, L.B.C.M, L.R.C.M, and F.L.C.M.
She has won numerous awards and scholarships from UBC and local festivals including Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival, Richmond Music Festival, and CDMF Performing Arts. Chamber music plays a big part in her musical pursuits. When she isn’t busy teaching piano, she enjoys collaborating with instrumentalists and ensembles.
2026 新任團長 郭豐是蓬萊元老級團員 自2000年開始加入參與演唱活動行列 自淡江大學學生期間就參與合唱團 熱愛唱歌 目前也擔任加拿大淡江大學校友會顧問。是熱心參與服務台灣社群的前輩。Our new chairman, Mr Guo Feng is a dedicated member of Vancouver’s Taiwanese community & has been a senior member of our choir since the year 2000. He also serves as a consultant of Tam Kang University Alumni Association for years. His passion for music and choir singing keeps bringing him back to our team over the years!
團長戴振華簡介 | Introduction of the Chairman, Edward Dai (2021-2025)
在國立新竹高中合唱團, 受吳聲吉老師教導聲樂3年; 並於就讀國立高雄師範大學時, 參加合唱團4年; 也曾在擔任教師時, 參加台灣福爾摩沙合唱團。
於2021起擔任團長至今。
Edward Dai received three years of vocal training under Mr. Wu Sheng-Chi as a member of the National Hsinchu Senior High School Choir. While studying at National Kaohsiung Normal University, he participated in the university choir for four years. During his teaching career, he also sang with the Formosa Singers in Taiwan .
